It's that time! All the online magazines are debuting their newest issue! I get overwhelmed with my love for all the new spaces and images!

This morning I woke up to the newest issue of Adore Magazine! Adore Magazine is based in Australia and those Aussie's know how to decorate! This issue was full of color, color and more color!!! I loved it all and the cover image was amaze!

I get so excited when I get an email telling me that a new issue of Rue Mag is out. They only publish every two months so the wait is long and I am always ready to see what inspiration the girls have put together. The most recent issue, I fell in love with this Beverly Hills APARTMENT of Jessica Marx. I love the colors and dramatic impact the rooms have!

Painting the apartment...

A couple months ago I decided I was sick about having beige walls we have to live with while renting an apartment. I really don't like beige. Although it can look really nice if done right, I feel like its pretty much the color everybody puts in their house because it's 'safe' and it's just too traditional and ordinary for me at this moment in my life!

I LOVE all white walls and I'm pretty much obsessed with anything black and white and eventually get some color punches on the walls or with some accessories.

I really like wallpaper but can't do that and it is definitely spendy, so I decided to get a Cutting Edge Stencil, the Casablanca pattern, to try to get the same affect as wall paper. I wanted the wall to be predominantly white with the black design but since it was a reverse stencil, I had to first paint the wall black and then paint the stencil with white. It took FOREVER! Let's just say you can't do one coat of white over black...try doing FOUR coats and then you'll get the pure white! Here are some pics of the process!

Now I just need a rustic wood table, some navy velvet drapes and some hot pink touches and I will be done!

I don't know about you but I'm ready for some color! We are in the grayest months of Seattle weather. It really hasn't bothered me at all...I would take this drizzle over the bitter cold and snow any day. We have been lucky enough to get a couple days here and there where the sun would shine and it is absolutely AMAZING! I'm loving me some Turquoise blue right now. I'm currently looking for some curtains that are just the right color of turquoise. Pair it with some sunshine yellow and you have a sunny day inside :)

Yummy Pesto Pizza

Last night I was with some good friends and watched the Golden Globes. It was a great time! Although many articles are saying Ricky Gervais was too harsh on his hosting duties, I truly think the show was hilarious! There is a reason he hosted two years in a row!

Well, with some of the people on the Daniel Fast, we decided to make a Vegan Pesto Pizza that was seriously the BEST pizza I have ever had! I got the recipe from Angela Liddon of Oh She Glows. This is the first recipe I have made from her blog but I cannot wait to try more!

You can see the post of the Pizza recipe here.

1) We had a pre-made pizza crust (100% whole wheat tastes the best) 2) Cover the crust with some EVOO and garlic and then smother with pesto. 3) Cut up some onion, tomato and basil leaves. 4) Put the cut up veggies in a baking pan with some EVOO and garlic and roast it in the oven. 5) Put the roasted veggies on top of the pesto. 6) Cook the pizza and ENJOY!

I didn't know healthy could taste this good!!

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Tomorrow I will be thinking about the friends and family back home and how I'll be missing them like crazy! Growing up, my family traveled to Arkansas for the family gathering (50+ immediate family...I did say Arkansas). Early mass in the morning and then back to Grandmas to begin the preparation for the feast. I have the best memories. To many of us to fit in the house, so some eat inside and the rest eat on fold out tables in the garage and the spread is served on the deep freeze. Cherish those times.

I am excited for the invitation to eat Thanksgiving dinner here with some new friends we have made. And at night, let the games begin as we get to experience for the first time, the Burton Bake-off, which is known to be very competitive.

On another note, a big family meal allows the excuse to create an amazing tablescape for your guests. It's time to break out the good china, light some candles and set the mood!

Rue Mag Issue 2!

I absolutely adore Rue Magazine! The girls that have the vision for this online magazine are taking design to a whole new level. The only complaint that I have is that it only is every other month! I look forward to their third issue in January as I'm sure it will blow away anyone with any interest in design.

The magazine is filled with so much inspiration but the feature that took my breath away was on the amazing, Seattle-based event planner, Kelley Moore. They featured several pics of her office space and it is absolutely unreal what she did with a repurposed factory. I would never want to leave work if I had an office like this.

Although most of my posts are just dreams of visions I have or some inspirations I've found there are some things I'm slowly going to be purchasing (unless my style changes) for the new place we just moved to last week. Last week was a crazy week. After spending five days in Kansas City, Jonathan and I got back into town on Sunday night and had 48 hours to pack our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment and move to a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment in another part of the city. Somehow we managed to do it...not necessarily the most organized move, but with the help of several friends we are now in our new home that I hope is our home for the next 18 months (we are sick and tired of moving). This Thanksgiving is going to be a little different. Jonathan and I don't get to come home for Thanksgiving. I'm guessing it will be very quiet and although my cooking skills have improved A LOT since first getting married, I doubt a turkey will be on our menu. I just know that I would destroy it. Thank goodness there will be some football on to take our mind away from missing our family like crazy! If I were in a home I would definitely be investing in this amazing dining table. I am OBSESSED with it! I love the idea of a large dining room table where family can come together. I could definitely do a wonderful fall tablescape for Thanksgiving! But for now it will go on my wish list for the furniture to buy when we have a home of our own :)

Unemployment: an economic condition marked by the fact that individuals actively seeking jobs remain unhired.

The definition is exactly on target but missing a couple other parts that are attached with the "actively seeking" part.

Unemployment...Part II: while actively seeking jobs and remaining unhired, feelings of frustration, highs and lows, day dreaming, worry, boredom, depression and more dreaming will likely occur.

I have a friend that was laid off about 9 months ago. In her situation, she was very fortunate because it was not her decision to take part in the unemployed statistic. She gets a small but still comforting unemployment check and continues to search for her next job while still being able to budget in some fun dinners, coffee dates, shopping trips and travel. I'm jealous of her. She gets an unemployment check! That sounds glorious! Now to my current situation. I differ from my friend because I chose this unemployment. What? Did I really say that? Yep. Although I am still completely confident that God will come through with the endless resumes and cover letters I have submitted, it is a fight to wonder and worry of how long I will be living with a VERY open, available and flexibly schedule. It's so crazy how the grass always looks greener. When you are in a job, all you look forward to are vacations and days off. But when you are blessed with an over abundance of (unpaid) "days off", all you want is to be back in the schedule that is made by someone else. Summer is now ending in the Northwest. I have been spoiled by the weather thus far. I was starting to wonder if the "rainy/gray weather" was just a hoax people talked about. 99% of the days in the past month have ranged between 65 and 85 degrees with blue skies and sunshine. Today is beautiful but definitely gray. I'm thinking the gray might not be the most productive weather for me to stay positive and focused. I need your prayers for doors to open! I'm completely confident that they will! But every little prayer will help! Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. ~Joshua 1:9

Since moving to Washington, Jonathan and I completely lost our mind and decided to let our dog sleep on the bed with us at night. This was initially supposed to be a one night event because we felt bad for being gone too long that day. Well that ONE night has turned to every night since and now Walter thinks he owns our bed. We can't get into bed at anytime of the day without him going crazy and wanting up as well. Interesting enough, he was first completely content with sleeping at the foot of the bed but last night I woke up with him sleeping just as people do...his head on the pillow and his body parallel with ours. I'm considering taking away his new throne but I don't know if I will win that battle. Of course I still want my pup to have the best sleeping conditions so I have found a couple of alternatives to look into... My sister will need the bunk beds for her two... And this one is for the ultimate diva. I want this in my size for me!

Since I am constantly job searching online during the day, I frequently take breaks to look through way too many blogs. I think I have officially realized I have a relationship with my Google reader. As I have posted before, I absolutely love this room, the piece that pops for me is the zebra hide rug! I have been on the look out for one ever since and found Saddleman's of Sante Fe which have an awesome remix of rugs in metallic! Lovin' these options! Now all I need is a job to support the purchase!

Sleepless in Seattle...

...OK, I'm definitely not sleepless in Seattle. I've actually slept very well up here in the northwest. After 2 1/2 days and 36 hours of driving, we arrived at our destination. The past 2 weeks have gone by so fast. We have met some pretty awesome people and we really like the church we will be plugged in at. We were blessed beyond belief with all the support we had in KC before we left. Jonathan and I feel very loved and will never be able to express how thankful we are of the love and relationships we have back at home. (Why do the tears start streaming every time I think/talk about that?) I will frequently be telling you all what all God is doing in our lives here. We are excited and expectant of what God has done and what He will do in the next two years. So let me first just fill you in on our travel to Washington... We left Monday, August 9th at about 7:45am. Jonathan was a stud and woke up early so we could have our Starbucks as we pulled out of the gravel drive of the O'Reilly home. We were so blessed to have Phillip and Susan/Dad and Mom/Filly and Dilly (whatever you want to call them) offer to make the trip across the country with us. I don't know if they fully understood what they offered until the second day of the trip. Jonathan, Phillip and Walter pulled the trailer in the Xterra while Susan and I followed in the Prius. We drove 17 hours on Monday, 15 hours on Tuesday and 4 hours on Wednesday. I think we are completely burnt out on road trips for a while. The first day of driving flew by surprisingly but the second day was a little different story. In case you didn't know already, Montana NEVER ends. It is the longest state ever! We are in a wonderful apartment (total favor of God) and have room for visitors if you feel like coming up to hang out! We would love to have you! We were lucky enough to have our Mom stay about a week with us and help us get settled, unpacked and pick up some of the odds and ends that didn't make the move! The weather has been absolutely amazing! The average temperatures have been in the 70's and low 80's without one drop of rain so far. We are loving it and Walter is enjoying it too! And in case you were wondering how Walter did on the drive out... (about 5 minutes into the drive) (about 5 hours into the drive) He slept the ENTIRE 36 hours! Love and miss you all!

By now I'm sure you have picked up on the fact that I'm a fan of white. I like color as well but a crisp, pure white room just does something for me. Although I'm sure I will change my mind by the time we buy a house of our own, but if we were to buy one today I would demand white marble counter tops in the kitchen. I know, I know...they are a pain to keep clean but beauty comes at a price!

My Birthday Charity

Although I don't have many followers right now I am hoping that this post will be able to encourage one of you to use your birthday in a powerful way this year! And if you jump on board then others will too!

There is a new website called My Birthday Charities. You can go to their website at mybirthdaycharity.com. My husband used his birthday this month to raise money for a charity called For the Silent. Their purpose is to save people that have become prisoners in the world of sex trafficking. At the very beginning of the summer I posted my summer project. I was determined to upholster an ugly, plaid, wood-trimmed, wing back chair. After many late nights, screams of frustration and a couple finger staplings...I AM FINISHED! I now understand why it is expensive to get anything upholstered. For my next project, I will invest in spending some money on some better tools to make it a little easier. So here are the before and after pictures. Please excuse my elementary camera skills. Shabby Chic Dreaming

Ok, I'm sure you have already seen this before but I have to post it just for the possibility that one of you may have not seen it yet. I came across this a while ago and was in complete "awe". This little heavenly chic cottage was featured in the New York Times and has been raved about in so many blogs. I'm pretty sure everyone has been amazed of what Sandy Foster has done. She created this joyous retreat with a budget of only $3000. That really explains that home is really only where the heart is. This was her heart. Her dream retreat. And she made that dream come true. And I don't know how it could be better. This lovely cottage is a tasteful 125 square feet of pure bliss. There is no bathroom or kitchen which makes it a complete escape. Her and her husband share a mobile home on the property that gives them their other needs. To read the whole story go to the New York Times article. You will be truly amazed of her story and how this cottage began as a dream when her family lost their home when she was only 15. I would say she has conquered every odd. She is an inspiration.

The only kind of camping I do is doing the outdoors by day and a hotel by night. I'm just not that into sleeping under the stars...with no roof separating us. Projects, Walter and Pink

Its been a looooong time and I have no excuse. I'm a slacker and just love my summers! I began my summer by catering to my husband since he had his wisdom teeth removed. Let's just say he milked every second of it!

Here is the before of my first project of the summer. I have started an upholstery class with a coworker of mine. It is A LOT of work but I'm excited and hoping my first piece ends up being a success. Here is the original chair and I will be showing you the chair with its makeover next week! (that is only if it is good enough to show)

We have also acquired an antique french sofa that needs some major work but has an awesome structure! I've never done a sofa but you gotta start somewhere. Walter is really liking having a piece of furniture he can call his for the moment. Here is a pic of how much he loves it. This was taking my Jonathan who I would have to say has an eye for photography.

It is now one week until my 27th birthday. Besides needing a little botox for the crows feet that seem to get deeper and deeper every year, it's always fun to make a birthday list just like my mom made me do when I was little. Although I don't necessarily need anything, here is what excites me as of now...

1) iPad...I really don't have much use for this. They look pretty freaking awesome though. The main reason I would like one is to just drive my husband (apples biggest fan) absolutely crazy. I would probably only end up using it at an alarm clock and a planner and I can just picture my hubby going crazy that I have the latest apple gadget before him... :)

2) Lucite Armchair...I have expressed my love for lucite furniture before. What I want most is a lucite armchair like the one in this pic. I found one when we were in Seattle. It was perfect and I wanted to take him home but there was no way it was going to fit in my suitcase :( When I get my lucite, it's home will be the chair for our desk.

3) Jeffrey Campbell Flats...I have had my eye on these since October. Don't ask me why I haven't gotten them yet. I'm super cheap and don't buy myself much...especially if it involves me ordering it online.

4) Pedicure...enough said. I need one badly.

5) Make-up...I wanna get girly and get some new makeup. It is just fun and makes ya feel good.

6) A little shopping would be fun...for some reason I just like shopping by myself. I don't know why. I think it's because I don't like feeling like somebody is waiting for me...

7) Tufted Sofa...Can't forget my dream sofa!

I could keep the list going but I will stop there... :) I took tomorrow off so I'm excited to have a three day weekend to myself!

Hello everyone! I have been gone for quite some time. Life has been crazy. When the weather gets nice I get this energy to just be doing things nonstop! Also with the end of the school year comes deadlines and lots of extra activities that I have to attend. Three weeks until summer break! The the last couple weeks I have done a lot! The hubby and I went to Seattle, I went to visit my family and my Mom in Arkansas, I got to see my best friend, I've been causing trouble with my SIL and then celebrated Mothers day yesterday with my other mom! So much family and friends...I'm having the time of my life. So what can I not get enough of lately? Ruffles. I love Ruffles. They are so feminine and lovely.

I am absolutely smitten with the new show 9 by Design. Tonight was the second episode where the family of 9 is trying to get into their new Manhattan home. This couple is an absolute, creative masterpiece! They started their business, Sixx Design, when they were first married. They bought a old, run down building (all they could afford) and gutted it and built it up...literally. There is no space in NYC to build out so they just build these homes up...3, 4 and 5 stories high! Amazing! They have grown their business and everybody seems to want a piece of their modern, vintage, eclectic design. They now have 7 very energetic children and it is very amusing watching them live their life and run their business. One thing I need to mention is that they are crafty with their decor. They don't go crazy and spend insane amounts of money on everything! They go to thrift stores and flea markets. They use street signs for decor, lights/chandeliers from closed factories and concrete for counter tops! Their ideas and visions are absolutely fascinating! This basketball court was on top of a house they just moved out of! They caged it in so no ball was lost obviously! Who says the city isn't for children?! I'm really loving all the lucite furniture I've been seeing in different rooms. It reminds me so much of the glass shoe that fit Cinderella's foot just right. Just like Cinderella, these amazing accents of crystal clear furniture definitely complete the room's "outfit". Girly, trendy and modern but still very elegant...only perfect for a princess :)

I have fallen in love with everything vintage. Vintage furniture, clothes, accessories...you name it, I love it. One thing I am horrible at is putting together the vintage pieces and making it look adorable. Although, to make that job easy all you have to do is walk into Anthropologie and they pretty much take care of any disability you may have in putting a vintage looking outfit together. Anthropologie is full of inspiration. Their store decor team never fails to amaze me with their inexpensive creative masterpieces that they do every season. Honestly who thinks of making tropical flowers out of water bottles? Or grass boxes out of cut up water hoses? Or a winter wonderland out of plastic cups and milk cartons? Or falling snow out of fishing wire and mini marshmallows? Or an ostrich out of rolled paper? Not only do their decorations leave me speechless but their clothes are so adorable. They are the definition of girly. Ruffles, bows, floral. I have discovered a couple of women's blogs that make amazing vintage accessories. Check these out! Most of the girls have etsy stores so you are able to purchase their stuff to complete your future outfit! Blog #1: Viva Full House This girl has been blessed with twin girls and triplet boys! Talk about a crazy busy life! I don't know how she finds time to make these amazing belts/shoes/hair accessories!

Blog #2: Whippy Cake This girl knows everything girly! She gives videos on how to get great hair and can make some amazing accessories! My favorite are her Glamour Bands, chokers, baby saks and boy ties! There is something that makes my heart melt when a baby girl has a headband with a flower the size of their precious head! Blog #3: Vintage Dreamz I just came across this blog this week. These girls know what they are doing! They make the most adorable wall hangings and accessories! This post is going to be a little different than anything else I've really said before. I have just started reading Free Book by Brian Tome. I have only read the first two chapters but it is filled with too much wisdom to just keep in the book. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out what this book is about...Freedom. Here are a couple things that are definitely worth sharing.

The entire Kingdom of God is about freedom. "It is for freedom that Christ set us free." We've been freed from sin, and therefore we are free to have job. Why is that so hard for us to accept? The Bible says God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline.

NOTHING ever gets done unless its done by a FANATIC!

Somewhere along the way, the message and reputation of the Bible got reversed. Instead of people recognizing it was a message about total freedom and perfect love, the Bible unjustly earned a reputation for being a book of restrictions. But that's because of who has been representing it.

God's primary mission is liberation. He wants to liberate us from our fears, grievances, addictions, petty preoccupations, and dozens of other distractions.

Here is a story that started Chapter 2. It happens way too often.

A guy was drinking a Bloody Mary in our church parking lot the other morning. We were tailgating--it was Super Bowl Weekend--and the day was close to perfect. Football, trucks, fire pits, hot dogs, and beer? Perfect.

But not everyone thought it was perfect. If you haven't heard, church parking lots aren't supposed to host tailgates, and Bloody Marys are off-limits when you're fifty yards from a church door. So, apparently, we needed some reprimanding.

It came in an email:

"I'm deeply offended and greatly disappointed by Crossroads' involvement with alcohol during the Super Bowl event. Such a move can be personally and spiritually devastating for people like myself [with an alcoholic past]. Will your next event involve weed or porn?!"

Now honestly, I thought about calling this guy and saying, "Great idea! We love weed around here!" until I realized he probably wasn't in the mood for my sarcasm. Instead, I emailed back:

"No, we won't be having weed or porn. We believe those things are wrong under every circumstance. but we don't believe alcohol is wrong under every circumstance. And I could quote you many scriptures about this, but then you'd probably have some to quote as well.

We don't want to cause anyone to stumble, and I don't think we caused you to stumble, either. Unless we consider giving you and opportunity to judge us as "stumbling." [That wasn't sarcasm, I promise.]

Now, alcohol isn't an agent of freedom. What I'm saying is that it seems as though many of us are so fearful of only doing what's "right" that we've lost sight of the life Jesus came to give us.

Although I love things with that are old and have a story behind them, there are some great new things too. I would have to say that ZGallerie is the best store in KC. I love seeing all their fun accessories and furniture. Why is it that I get depressed by the time I leave because I want to buy so much? Although the prices are very reasonable they become unreasonable when your list has 100 things on it. I keep thinking the Powerball is in my near future but I guess that means I would need to play it to win it...

Spring Break

I was supposed to be in NYC right now. I was looking forward to seeing my BFF and seeing the "concrete jungle". After a canceled flight and four hours of stand by I found out that I will no longer be getting the vacation I had planned. Bummer.

Although Kansas City doesn't have as much to do as NYC probably does, I am going to have a positive outlook that I am lucky to have a week off of work and going to pamper myself as if I was in the Big Apple. Plans include sleep, shopping, getting my hair done, nails, decorate....I will let you know how the Staycation goes!

I've been thinking about this for a while now, after seeing a beautiful house last night, I think I have made a final decision. I want all the walls in my future home to be black and white and the color will come from the accessories. This room is a perfect example of what I love. It gives me butterflies every time I look at it. For the most part, I love rooms/furniture/accessories that have character and/or history. But I do like some pieces of modern decor. This room has a perfect combination of the two..."modern vintage" is what I like to call it.

I'll start with the furniture...

1) The velvet sofa is to die for. I absolutely love velvet (as you can probably see from previous posts). So many people think that velvet is only for fall/winter...they obviously have no clue what they are thinking.

2) The coffee table is very modern. I love it. I have seen these coffee tables in several rooms recently. You can do so much with them. They accessorize this one very elegantly. I have seen some with stacks of vintage books underneath. It looks amazing!

3) The rug just spices up the whole room. It takes the space from calm to sassy :)

4) There isn't much to say about the bookshelf except that I LOVE bookshelves. If you don't have one in your house then start shopping or building now!

5) Now, I've saved the best for last...The fireplace and molding. I'm sure I will be posting on my love for ornate and Victorian architecture in the near future. That's where all the character comes in. There are not words to describe its perfection.

I heart chesterfield sofas. The more tufted the better. They are a classic piece that absolutely everyone should own at some point. They can be found in every color and fabric possible. Here are the few that I have my eyes on.

1) Once we have a house, I have agreed to let my husband have the basement. It will be his official man cave (but girls will be allowed). Although many wives would never trust their husband with the responsibility of decorating a major part of the house, I am fully confident that my husband will do an amazing job. It probably helps that we kind of have the same vision for the space. We seem to both absolutely love the classic vintage, tufted, leather chesterfield sofas...

2) Now for the chesterfield sofa I must have somewhere else in the house...

Last year Jonathan and I were fortunate enough to have a two-bedroom apartment which blessed us with two decent sized closets. This year, we decided to move into the city. Although we absolutely love the location, this decision resulted in sharing a closet. For most women, sharing a closet wouldn't be too challenging. But when your husband has the same, if not more clothes than you, the space can get really cramped! I will dedicate this post to my dream of a closet that resembles more of a showroom of fashion than a place to store clothes. Someday we will get this girls...

I would have to say that this is one of the first years that I have ever had much of a Valentines Day spirit. I know that the 'holiday' is often overdone and I'm not into or do I expect a big celebration. What I am excited about is all the girly and lovely things that come with the day of love.

One of my favorite movies of 2009 was Love Happens. The movie starred the nearly perfect Jennifer Aniston and one of my favorite actors, Aaron Eckhart. Initially, I thought I was going to see another chic flick love story to make my heart melt but instead the movie had a much deeper story that touched my heart in a very unexpected way. I suggest you see the movie if you haven't already! I think the boys will even like this one as well! How could they not when Jen is in it! The DVD was released last week...run to the nearest red box or blockbuster on this cold, snowy night :)

In the movie, Jennifer Anison's character owned a flower shop. I have become a flower girl. I cannot wait to own a house someday and attempt to landscape, garden, etc. Flowers bring smiles and happiness. They can brighten a special someones day or be a finishing touch to a room or outfit. Where ever you fit them in your life, they are special and signifies beauty.

It may sound a little pathetic, but I couldn't wait to get home from work to create a new post. There is something to this blog world. It's similar to a diary I guess...but it doesn't have to be so deep, depressing or critical of our daily lives. It is pretty interesting to read through other blogs and get to know a very intriguing side of their passions. It is a way to express yourself in a way that a normal person may not know from just talking over lunch. I feel a sense of freedom. I like it. And now that I officially have one follower, it's kinda exciting to know someone else wants to know what I have to say or feel :) I have a fan club (with one member)! Woo hoo!

Upholstery: the padding, covering, etc., of a piece of furniture.

Upholstery/Reupholstery is truly fascination to me. It amazes me how, in the case of reupholstery, something can be completely neglected and be transformed into a Cinderella/masterpiece. I love before and afters. I love to see transformation. I love to see change (for the better of course).

I have discovered a fantasy land that I cannot wait to enter someday. There is a fabric store in Atlanta, Georgia that knows exactly what my heart desires for furniture. I can look at the colors and patterns forever. I love how fun and how much personality is behind each color or pattern.

Beds I Adore...

Ok...you probably get the point. There is something about french beds that literally (Rachel Zoe style) take my breath away. They make my heart go 'pitter patter'. I will look at them for hours on various websites, but the only matches I find are the real, antique ones. Which don't get me wrong, the older and more history it has the better! But for some reason the biggest size bed they made back in the day is a full! I don't think that would cut it for the me and the hubby. Oh well, a girl can dream :)

Intentions into Actions

Two weeks ago I had the honor to listen to my amazing husband live out a true gift God has given him, to preach God's good news. And boy did he bring a word. The thing about being given a message is that you have two choices. One choice is to hear it and maybe take a note here and there. The second choice is to actually make that message alive in your life. Do something about that word. Jonathan talked about 'story'. What story are you living? What is the story your life will tell? Today is a gift. We have today to make a difference. We have today to live a dream. We have today to work or achieve a goal. Why are we wasting today and not fulling living today? We are to turn our 'when' into 'now'. We are to make our INTENTIONS into ACTIONS, TODAY! So why is it that I was truly inspired by this wisdom nearly two weeks ago but I'm still talking about my intentions and not my actions? Its frustrating. For several years now, I have realized I've been battling the spirit of fear. Fear is paralyzing in my life. It speaks lies into my life...but the saddest part is that I've believed it. Why do I let it have so much power in my life...it needs to end. I don't want to be here in 10 years and be talking about the same 'whens'. I have a friend who has started a blog as of January 1, 2010. This blog is to help her get out of the depression and anxiety she has been suffering from for years. This blog allows her to not keep secrets anymore. It allows her to tell people and face the reality of her everyday struggles. It allows her to feel and it allows other people feel for her. I admire her for her bravery and turning her intentions to get better into actions of getting better! I want to fully experience this life that God has given me. I want to be fully free and happy everyday. I want to be the best person I can be for myself and also for my husband who deserves nothing less. I want everybody to know the real me. It starts NOW... My Intentions into Actions... 1) I will paint the furniture I have started to collect. 2) I will upholster the two chairs I have purchased. 3) I will make our house into a home. 4) I will workout and train for a goal. 5) I will lose the extra pounds. 6) I will show others my story, through my actions, not my plans. As I sit on my couch on Friday night, my heart is breaking for the people of Haiti. I honestly can't imagine the helplessness and hopelessness that these lives are experiencing. Although there is awareness and help coming from countless locations in this world, their land is struck with pain and suffering. We, the Church, the people given this amazing life by the One True God, are able to do countless things to bless these peoples lives. So what are you going to do? You can pray...fast...give money...give supplies...give your hands to help...give love...give hope. We have the ability to give life back to these wonderful people. GIVE, LOVE, BLESS!
